Thursday's Cook-out day in Odebolt! Pork burgers were provided and grilled by Brad Lundell, Lundell Farms. Mike Hoefling and Mary Neville of Nutrien Ag Solutions-donated all the sides and buns for the meal. Special thanks to the Bowling Alley in Odebolt for ordering all the sides!

OABCIG Elementary students were recognized for achieving the 100, 200, 300, and 400 point levels in Accelerated Reader this school year. Also, congratulations to all students who read books and earned points!

Teacher Appreciation Week Teacher Appreciation Day, May 7, 2024 A BIG Shout Out to: United Bank of Iowa for sponsoring the cinnamon rolls. Ida Bowl (Sheila and her gang) that made the cinnamon rolls. The OABCIG Staff really appreciates the acknowledgement! Thank you!!!

Rural Non-Congregate Summer Meals will be available again for the summer of 2024. We will serve grab and go style meals from both the Ida Grove Elementary and the Odebolt Elementary/Middle School buildings. Meals will be served from the front entrance/canopy area of the buildings. Meal pick-up times are 11:30-12:30 at both locations. Meal service is only being offered from May 29-June 28. Meals are FREE and for students/children only (18 & Under), no adult meals are being offered. Meal would include the lunch (for that day) and the next day's breakfast. Meal service is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 (will include Wednesday lunch & Thursday breakfast). Pickup location & time: OABCIG Elementary-Ida Grove (Main Entrance) - 11:30 AM-12:30 PM OABCIG Elementary/MS-Odebolt (Main Entrance) - 11:30 AM-12:30 PM **Please note, students being bussed for summer school will be given a meal to take with them when they are bussed home. Parents will not need to pick up a meal for summer school students when summer school is in session. **Parent/Guardian may pick up without the child being present. OABCIG Schools is retiring and selling our current Acer Chromebooks. We will be purchasing new devices for the next school year. These Acer Chromebooks were purchased on 2020 and have been used for the past four years. They have a touchscreen and will fold flat to be used in tablet mode. Each sale will include the Chromebook and charger.  Some may come in a case, some may not. Each chromebook is $50.00. REMINDER: Due to a 3pm start time for the Middle School track meet today, we will dismiss school at 2:30pm. This will allow time to clear the high school parking lot while also keeping our District-wide transportation schedule consistent.

We would like to thank the professionals who keep our buildings running smoothly every day. To our secretaries, administrative assistants, and other administrative support professionals, thank you for keeping us organized and efficient!

Today, we are recognizing all school bus drivers for taking care of our precious cargo during the school year. Whether they are transporting our kids to school, home, activities, or to sporting events, school bus drivers deserve recognition for the job they do.

Odebolt Elementary students had a special guest reader yesterday morning! Anna McCollough, Sac County Fair Queen, came to each of the classrooms to read books and share her experience as a fair queen.

Many hands make light work 🧹 Odebolt students, staff, and volunteers working together to clean up around the OABCIG Odebolt Elementary & Middle School grounds and various community locations.
