Odebolt Elementary students had a special guest reader yesterday morning! Anna McCollough, Sac County Fair Queen, came to each of the classrooms to read books and share her experience as a fair queen.

OABCIG Elem in Odebolt and Middle School is hosting their annual Scholastic book fair March 18-21. Information packets and wish lists were sent home with K-5 students on March 13 or 14.
This event is open to the public from 2:30-7:30 on March 19 and 2:30-7:00 on March 21.

OABCIG Elementary Students had a very special afternoon today, as they were entertained by the Des Moines Opera Iowa troupe! 4th and 5th graders all attended a workshop to learn more about what these entertainers do. Then all the K-5th graders got to watch as they performed "Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing"!
Tonight, you can all come watch as these fabulous performers show off their skills in "Beauty and the Beast" at the High School Auditorium

OABCIG Schools will have a 2 hour late start Friday, March 8th. There will be no morning preschool and no before school activities.
The Kids Heart Challenge in the OABCIG Odebolt Elementary is off to a great start! Students are already over halfway to their goal of raising $5,000 for the American Heart Association. As a result, they've earned 2 dress-up days for the end of this week:
Thursday- Feb 22 - Wear your favorite sports team apparel
Friday-Feb 23 - Hat Day
There's still time to register and complete Finn's Mission online, learning hands-only CPR, which is free to do! Thanks to everyone for their support so far and keep up the good work!

Odebolt Building is looking to hire a paraeducator to begin as soon as possible.

4th Grade in Odebolt learned about the famous Berlin Candy Bomber, Gail Halvorsen, from guest speaker Jim Lundell. Mr. Lundell has been visiting the 4th grade for the past few years, sharing his friend's story. Lundell brings the students gum and chocolate, which they enjoyed as he read "Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot" by Margot Thies Raven.
