During library class, Ida Grove Elementary Kindergarten listened to and discussed Eric Carle's book, The Tiny Seed. When given time to build with click blocks, several students chose to build their own version of a flower from the book.

OABCIG Elem in Odebolt and Middle School is hosting their annual Scholastic book fair March 18-21. Information packets and wish lists were sent home with K-5 students on March 13 or 14.
This event is open to the public from 2:30-7:30 on March 19 and 2:30-7:00 on March 21.

OABCIG Elementary Students had a very special afternoon today, as they were entertained by the Des Moines Opera Iowa troupe! 4th and 5th graders all attended a workshop to learn more about what these entertainers do. Then all the K-5th graders got to watch as they performed "Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing"!
Tonight, you can all come watch as these fabulous performers show off their skills in "Beauty and the Beast" at the High School Auditorium

The Ida Grove 3rd graders had the opportunity to meet with Jim Christensen via zoom. Jim is from the Aldrin Family Foundation and he talked with them about his time working at NASA, as well as some fun information about the moon and space.
The first grade classes at the Ida Grove Elementary building collected cans of food and paper products for the 100th day of school. They collected 206 items for the food pantry. Kris Gunderson and another food pantry volunteer came and talked to the first grade about the food pantry. They learned a lot and many first graders said they would like to volunteer and help some day.
Odebolt Building is looking to hire a paraeducator to begin as soon as possible.

Danika Hinkeldey brought Ag to the Classroom this month, helping the IG Elementary kindergarten students learn more about milk, butter, and dairy cows. Students had a chance to "milk a cow" and taste the butter that they made fresh in the mixer.

Mrs. Masters did a lesson on telescopes with Ida Grove third graders this week. She talked about light and how the different lenses work. Then each student made their own telescope. 🔭
Jamie, the talented creator of Fox and Hare Creative, shared her jewelry expertise with the kindergarten classes. Jamie also discussed how she prepares for our local farmers market. 💐☀️🥕🍅🥔🥦🫑👩🏽🌾👨🏻🌾Thanks again, Jamie!✨
