OABCIG's Drill Team Fill The Truck Event at this Friday night's game! They will be at the main gate of the football game from 6:00-7:00pm to collect donations!

Today the Ida Grove 4th grade students got to do a science experiment to help learn more about cellular respiration. The science demonstration was showing that carbon dioxide, which is a gas, results from sugar and yeast being mixed together. The students learned that the bottle with sugar blew up the balloon at a much higher rate than the bottle with just yeast.

OABCIG Ida Grove Elementary participated in the Iowa Healthiest State Walk Wednesday, Oct. 2. The annual event encourages Iowans to be physically active. It is part of the Healthy Choices Count initiative, encouraging children to follow the 5210 daily formula - Eat 5 servings of fruits or vegetables, limit screen time to 2 hours or less, get 1 hour of physical activity, and consume 0 sugar-sweetened drinks.










Danielle Bennett from the conservation came to talk to the Ida Grove third grade about turtle adaptations. She explained how a water turtle and land turtle have different adaptations to survive.

Reminder of the 2:00 dismissal this Friday, September 27th

The Ida Grove Elementary is having a blast dressing up for homecoming days! Monday was "Couch Potato" day where students wore their favorite jammies or sweats. On Tuesday, they got to decide whether to wear country or city clothing on Country vs. City Day.










The Ida Grove 4th grade students had the opportunity to visit the country school house and experience school back in time. Students got to work in readers, use slates, practice handwriting with ink and pens, and do math problems. To end the visit, they hiked to the Moorehead cemetery and went in the Stage Coach Inn.

They learned about anhydrous, went to different stations learning about 911, EMT, animal safety, electrical safety, the importance of corn, combine safety, and participated in a few ag Olympics activities.
